Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Rock Island, Illinois. As a previous volunteer for the Lupus Society of Illinois, I instantly became inspired to reveal my childhood story, growing up with a disease-stricken parent. I obtain a double major Bachelor of Finance and Accounting. I currently reside in Chicago where I work as a accountant for the Center of Medicaid and Medicare Services. While servicing nearly six years in the U.S. Air Force, I was blessed with the opportunity to travel around the world to explore different cultures and indulging in food I couldn't even pronounce. I have such a love for music of all genres, dancing makes me feel free and laughing until my tears fall is such a refreshing release.
Writing allows the freedom to unleash your deepest thoughts, secrets and create imaginaries you've only dreamt of. It's the gateway permitting a journey into new heights beyond the walls of your mind. As a young girl, my journal was my imaginary friend whom comforted me in countless times of need. Whether it was one sentence, one paragraph or one page, the pen ink danced across the paper as the two intertwined creating numerous songs. No judgment, no pressure, no criticism...just me, the pen and the pages.
Everyone has a story! It took nearly 10 years for me to find the comfort ability to unveil and share my story with the world. Once I began to write, the path to completion challenged me, pushing beyond the surface and tapping into the silent writer I've kept hidden for years. Throughout the journey to finish my first book, I had to learn the do‘s and don'ts of the publishing industry. After attending the 2017 Writer's Digest Conference, I gained knowledge about the industry and how to become a more fluent writer. At that very moment, I knew it was time...time to spread my wings and fly.
